Rather amusing, except that some see the fact that the young woman is a bad mother...Kayla is an 18-year-old mother, whose daughter is already very big at only 14 months. She talks about her daily life on TikTok and, recently, she revealed that her baby wears clothes in size 3 years old. The internet being what it is, she immediately faced a wave of criticism, with some accusing her of being a bad mother who did not know how to feed her child properly.
A big surprise baby
In 2020, Kayla gave birth to her first child. The young woman being herself rather small, she thought that this would also be the case for her baby, since she gained very little weight during her pregnancy and her belly was not rounded. At birth, she estimated that her daughter had inherited her physique, since she weighed 3.42 kilos, which is a little less than the average. But it turned out that she was wrong!
In a video posted on TikTok, Kayla explains: "I thought my baby would be very small like me when I was pregnant". She then takes her daughter in her arms, and we discover a very tall girl for her 14 months! She is already almost half the size of her mother, who specifies that she is 1.57 m tall. "They are very tall on her father's side and she is like them," she comments.

Kayla's video has gone viral on social media because it's true that it's surprising to see 14-month-olds being so tall. However, the young mother quickly became the target of criticism. Internet users being quick to think that they know everything better than everyone else, some have accused her of being a bad mother and of abusing her daughter by not feeding her properly. “It is impossible that your doctor does not tell you to slow down a little. She is much bigger than normal children of her age”, can we read for example in the comments. "You don't give your baby healthy food and exercise," "I bet your pediatrician reported you to social services," others add.
Except what these people tend to forget is that there is no such thing as "normal", and that every child develops differently. This is what Kayla recalled, retorting: "If you watch my videos you know that I asked more than one doctor for their opinion because she is a big girl. I also spoke to lactation consultants and everyone agreed that she is fine. Her dad's family is really, really big and she looks even bigger next to me. She is well fed and healthy. health so you can walk away with your nonsense". And Bam !
