Splashback, wallpaper or colored facades, Maison Magazine offers you three solutions to breathe new life into your kitchen...

1. Twist the splashback

You can opt for stainless steel plates to stick on a flat and dry support or on a chipboard panel to be fixed to the wall (in GSB or at Ikea), laminate panels (large choice of colors at Polyrey) or lacquered glass (Lapeyre). Another possibility: apply a paint that is resistant to water, heat and stains ("Tile paint", Julien, "ProtectActiv'", V33) to your old tiles. Or a resin, thicker and very resistant ("Résinence Color", Résinence, satin, matte or shiny finish).

2. Rejuvenate the facades

Are yours sad and old-fashioned? Cover them with stickers or paint them with a special paint, resistant to shocks and stains (Julien, Tollens, V33). The application is usually done directly on the support, whether varnished wood, laminate or melamine, without stripping or undercoating.

3. Dare to use wallpaper in the kitchen

On an entire wall, in an alcove-like recess or just a strip here or there: we put it everywhere, even in the kitchen. The pose ? Child's play. Just choose a glue adapted to the type of paper (non-woven, vinyl or standard) or, simpler, a universal glue (all papers). It is applied evenly on the length or, if it is a non-woven, directly on the wall (it's even easier). Another advantage of non-woven fabric is that it lays edge to edge without shrinking and can be cut out on the wall. Note that the glue brand Quelyd offers a dispenser case and a colored indicator to clearly see where the product has been applied: no more wastage or extra thickness.
